366 Cancer Challenge: New Chemotherapy Ward

Created by Brian 6 years ago
Terri contributed to the charity through her crafts and her 'racing pigs' game. We also put the money collected at Terri's funeral towards it.

The old ward at Derriford was cramped and unpleasant. The seats for the patients were uncomfortable; those for the patients' friends worse: we would often have to stand up to allow another person to access a seat and clear equipment to move about the room. It was also difficult for the Nurses to work in.

The Nurses showed me around the new Lydford Ward on the evening of Monday 26th June 2017.

The new ward is much larger: very spacious and easy to use. There is also a waiting room now and aspecially well-equipped 'side rooms' for one patient each (two had to share the old side-rooms) The charity money has has been used to furnish and decorate the new ward. The seats for patients are more modern, adjustable and comfortable; those for the friends much more comfortable.

Terri will approve and be pleased.
