Terri's Courage

Created by Brian 6 years ago
I always accompanied Terri each hospital appointment. When we were going for Terri's chemotherapy we would walk along a long corridor to the oncology unit. Just as we approached the entrance to the unit Terri would always turn to me, pulling a face with her lips turned down at the ends, saying, "I wants go home!" I would look into those big blue eyes, wanting to take Terri home but would always persuade her to go in, thinking the treatment would save her. I would always hold Terri's hand while the nurses put in the canula and whike they started the drips. One of the drugs made Terri sleepy and caused strange sensations so I would try to be there holding her hand when she awoke.

I can see those big blue eyes right now - I want Terri to come home!
