Terri's Lodge

Created by Brian 7 years ago
In the Summer of 2014 we stayed at the lodge as a respite from our flats after mine had been damaged severely in the February storms and a lot of my things stored at Terri's. We enjoyed our time there so much that we bought the lodge in September- I bought it for Terri really.

We stayed at the lodge rather than returning to Picklecombe, using the hot tub throughout the winter. Unfortunately, Terri became progressively more unwell, culminating in the diagnosis of stomac cancer on 2nd July 2015, her operation on 6th July and starting her first chemotherapy on 29th August. We stayed at the lodge until Terri passed away on 16th June 2016, having chosen to spend her last days there with me.

That Summer our neighbours planted a memorial garden opposite the lodge so I placed a memorial plaque there.

Today, Helen, Ian and I placed Terri's ashes in both the memorial garden and under her favourite bush, an Elaeagnus, next to the lodge.

Terri is at the lodge. ❤
