Old Pops

Terry often talked about Old Pops, an old, gnarled oak tree in Mount Edgcumbe Park, that she used to visit frequently when she walked her neighbours dog; it is one of he sites where she wants her ashes placed. On Wednesday afternoon, 14 October 2015, after visit to Derriford Hospital, Terri and I walked from Barn Pool in the park to see Old Pops, just past Lady Emma's cottage. I had forgotten about the occasion and that Terri had videoed the tree, and the route to it past the cottage, on her mobile 'phone. In the clip one can see Terri's shadow as she films the path. As I now use Terri's phone I found the clip which has enabled me to find Old Pops again.

Today, Helen, Terri's closest friend, and I retraced the route from Barn Pool, past Lady Emma's cottage, to visit Old Pops again. We both placed some of Terri's ashes in various hollows in the tree, making a video of the occasion.. Terri is, I am sure, pleased that we have honoured her memory in this way, giving her ashes and her spirit to Old Pops for safekeeping.
