Terri said to me, "You look after me!" I owed it to her to look after her; it was my duty as her husband to look after her; but above all I looked after her, best I could, because I love her. Now I owe it to Terri; and it is my duty to Terri, to honour the trust she bestowed on me to follow her wishes: but I do so because I love her still. We trust one another so completely that I am Terri's sole Executor and beneficiary (as she was mine). In May Terri insisted on being registered at the hospital as Mrs Rayden as she confided that she wanted only me alone to look after her interests. Terri also made many requests of me - giving me many reasons for them - that are known only to me, including her clear wish (since 2008) for her funeral to be at the Glyn Valley crematorium near Bodmin. On this fifth day of Christmas I am taking stock of the situation: I am satisfied that I am gradually fulfilling those requests best I can and, despite some obstruction, with patience and perseverance, will eventually carry out all of Terri's wishes faithfully.
