Looking back on it I am amazed that Terri regarded her prognosis - she knew but didn't acknowledge it - with such equanimity and we all not just went along with it but pretended to ourselves that everything would turn out OK in the end when we knew it wouldn't. Terri was extremely courageous but I was not.
